Someone who’s been through it will pick up the phone.

We’re a group of local volunteers. Most of us have had breast cancer, or looked after someone who has. If you’ve found a change, just been diagnosed, or you’re struggling after treatment, ring us. It’s free and it stays between us.

We’re a small group of volunteers with one stubborn belief: nobody in Gibraltar should face breast cancer alone. Not at diagnosis, not during treatment, and not afterwards, when everyone assumes you’re back to normal.

The BCSG volunteers

Founded in 2007 and still run without paid staff. Money raised in Gibraltar is spent in Gibraltar.

What we actually do

Every one of these is free. There’s no form and no waiting list. You ring, and we work out what would help.

Everything we offer
  • A woman smiling as she talks on her mobile phone in the street

Talk to someone who’s been there

A volunteer who’s had the treatment you’re facing. On the phone, over a coffee, or on a walk along the front.

  • One person holding the hand of another who is wearing a hospital gown

    Company at chemo

A volunteer can sit with you at St Bernard’s, for the first session or for every one of them.

  • A pink bra with a ribbon motif pegged on a washing line

    A bra voucher after surgery

Newly diagnosed? We’ll give you a £25 M&S Gibraltar voucher. No paperwork.

  • A woman walking through an airport pulling a pink suitcase

    Help with travel and money

Grants towards flights, taxis and hotels if your treatment is in the UK or Spain.

  • Two paper bags of shopping with fruit and vegetables

    Lifts, shopping, meals

We can’t always promise, but we can usually find someone.

  • A mother holding her young child in a hug

    Support for your family

Partners, parents, children and friends can ring the same number.

Gibraltar in pink

Gyms, shops, clubs and schools raise most of our money, usually wearing something pink.

Every October, the Rock turns pink.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is our busiest month: coffee mornings, the Pink Party, Pink Flag Day on Parliament Lane, and plenty of people simply wearing pink for someone they love.
