Get involved

Everything we do depends on volunteers, fundraisers, local businesses, and a community that turns out every October and the rest of the year too.

Volunteer

You don’t need a medical background. You need patience, warmth, and a phone you’ll answer.

We’re run entirely by volunteers. The roles include:

  • Phone support: listening, pointing people to the right help, being a friendly voice.
  • Hospital visits: sitting with someone during chemo or after surgery.
  • Events: running stalls, packing goody bags, looking after collection points.
  • Office and admin: keeping the small things ticking over.
  • Trustees: occasional, strategic, and very useful.

You don’t have to commit to a rota, and you don’t have to have had cancer. You just have to be willing.

Fundraise

Every pound raised is spent in Gibraltar. Choose something you’d enjoy and we’ll help you run it.

  • A plate of cupcakes with pink icing

    Hold a coffee morning

Pink scones, pink napkins, pink everything. We’ll lend you collection tins, banners and posters. October is ideal, but any month works.

  • A swimmer doing front crawl in open sea

    Take on a challenge

Walkers for Knockers, the Mediterranean Steps, a run, a swim or a paddle round Europa Point. Use our JustGiving page and we’ll handle the admin.

  • BCSG volunteers with staff at a cosmetics counter

Choose us as your company’s charity

We’ll come and talk to your team, set up payroll giving, help organise an event and put your logo on our materials.

  • Bright pink balloons

    Wear pink

A pink Friday at the office, a pink PE day at school, a pink shop window. Small things done often pay for whole projects.

  • Volunteers in BCSG T-shirts with a BCSG tote bag

    Sell our things

Our online shop sells T-shirts, ribbons, bottles and bags. Stock a few in your café or shop and we’ll split the proceeds.

  • A dance fitness class in a studio

    Your own idea

A car-boot sale, a quiz night, a sponsored head shave, a bake sale at the school gates. If you can think of it, we can usually help you run it.

Why giving locally matters

Give to a large UK charity and most of the money goes on work that doesn’t reach Gibraltar. Give to us and it pays for equipment at St Bernard’s, vouchers from M&S Gibraltar, counselling on the Rock, and travel grants for people you might pass in Casemates.
